Logistics Engineer

Algemene omschrijving

Purpose
Analyse complex internal and external business drivers within the process field of logistics / supply chain. Initiate and develop (supply chain) policies to optimize the overall performance of the company group and the total supply chain of main customers.

Key Accountabilities

1.       Supply Chain policies and concepts

Analyze business drivers and develop new concepts and policies concerning Logistics and Supply Chain to optimize the overall performance.

 Core activities:

• Analyze complex internal and external business drivers and generate relevant management information.
• Initiate and develop new concepts.
• Translate strategic decisions concerning Logistics and Supply Chain into operational level policies.

2.       Project and contract management

Manage internal and/or external projects, with the objective to improve the overall performance of the group and/or the customers. Support in SLA contracts of service providers and monitor the performance and effectiveness of the activities through out the whole Supply Chain

Core activities:

• Advice the organization on project priorities.
• Execute cost-benefit analyses and business calculations.
• Analyze, report on and follow up KPI’s – SLA’s.
• Manage, coordinate, optimize and/or execute internal and external Supply Chain projects.

3. Process Optimization

Advice the organization on and initiate and coordinate (pioneering) improvement projects to optimize the business processes in favor of the organization and its customers. Lay the base for continuous process improvement with clear focus and measurable results.

Core activities:

• Analyse logistic and/or Supply Chain processes.
• Advice the management on improvements that can be made in business processes.
• Develop and optimize management information processes and budgeting formats.
• Inform the management on measures that should be taken to realize “Operational Excellence”.

In this position you will work closely with the senior logistic engineer. The purpose is to grow and develop to the same level.

Gestelde eisen

Knowledge/skills:

• Masters degree (Bussiness Administration, supply chain Management, Logistics).
• Experience in working in projects.
• Knowledge and affinity for logistics, business processes and calculations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch, preferable a third language.
