Inventory Planner

Algemene omschrijving

The main purpose of this position is to determine and implement inventory planning parameter changes to achieve and maintain the desired balance between inventory value, turns and facing fill with resultant customer satisfaction.

Primairy Tasks & Responsibilities

- Maintain/adjust forecasts to account for historical demand fluctuations to ensure maximum demand forecast accuracy
- Maintain the daily/weekly/monthly replenishment process and address forecasted and un forecasted demand conditions
- Maintain Inventory levels and stocking policies
- Evaluate and initiate supply methods/sources to avoid/correct backorder situations
- Check on stock-keeping unit (SKU) monthly and non SKU to ensure the optimum stock structure at the relevant locations. Analyze and recommend for returns to CEPC and/or for scrap action minimum once a year
- Maintain cost effective use of logistics contracts in replenishment and VOR ordering
- Monitor ratio on the stock order/VOR order lines to enable organization to meet budgeted transport costs
- Close follow up on above measures (Metric Analysis) to identify existing/potential areas of concern, suggest and initiate corrective actions to meet those within deadlines
- Regular and timely communication with country PDC to ensure appropriate stock fill for country PDC, with an overview on upcoming sales campaigns, and follow up on recall/service campaigns to help organization maximize customer satisfaction
- Timely maintenance of existing procurement systems and operational procedures and complete other related assignments (i.e. cancelled sales orderlines,  long outstanding PO, NSC questions on Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), part information part of Locals procedure etc)
- Follow up with Country PDC operation to make sure on update of system/database with new parts set up and supersession’s
- Perform required data analysis for managed PDC to achieve above targets and also for any ad-hoc analysis as may be required by management
- Support Materials Management Team and Country organization on PDC related projects.

Knowledge: 

•  Automotive Supply Chain management
• Knowledge of service and inventory control methods

Skills:

• Highly analytical – able to evaluate data from multiple sources
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Accuracy
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrates responsibility in honoring commitments

Experience/Education:

• Supply Chain management experience (at least 2 years)
• College Education

Competencies:

• Able to communicate in a clear and concise manner
• Team player – supports team members and supervisor with constructive behavior on achieving common goals
• Customer Focus – internal Chevrolet PDC (Parts Distribution Centers) and Retailers
• Customer Focus -  external customers (vehicle owners)
• Able to use software support programs
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office software (particularly Excel and Access)

Languages:

• Fluent English (to communicate with all markets) and Dutch for local communications
