Company Profile Business Objects Specialist

We are looking for a Business Objects Specialist. Our client is a world leading Financial Institution.

The Business Objects Specialist manages the development & test environments and assuring that technical (non functional) aspects of applications meet operational requirements. You are critical to the success of several projects and provides a great opportunity to set up a mature BO Administration and support role.

The IT Support team is responsible for the development processes and environments, functional and technical administration of 3rd party applications in co-operation with External Service Providers. The team includes other Application Engineers and Deployment, DBA's and Web engineers.

Job Description Business Objects Specialist

As a Business Objects Specialist you are responsible for:

-Design, configure, support, maintain and adminster Business Objects XI Release 2 and 3 environments, including installation, application patching and version upgrades.
-Setup/configuration and monitoring of BO services
-Set up Business Objects security management
-Report scheduling, setup and monitoring
-Design and implement a framework for standards and content lifecycle management between environments.
-Support and assist project teams and provide guidance and support to the business users on complex business intelligence reports developed by them.
-Set up additional backup procedures to protect against user errors
-Trouble-shooting and fine-tuning applications
-Guidance in best practices for security, development and configuration.
-Perform capacity analysis and planning, performance tuning, auditing, and optimization.
-Deploy and maintain the Business Objects Audit functionality.
-Maintenance of reports and instances
-Maintain interface between Business Objects and LDAP

Job Criteria Business Objects Specialist

As a Business Objects Specialist you meet the following requirements:

-Experience with Business Objects XI R2 and 3, including Web Intelligence.
-Experience as a Business Objects Administrator for large scale implementations.
-Expert in designing and modeling user and application security in the BO XI application, application server security, and web server security.
-Experience installing and configuring Business Objects.
-Experience in Business Objects architecture, migrations and upgrades.
-Solid experience downloading and applying Business Objects fix packs and upgrades.
-Experience with dashboard deployments and BI reporting strategies.
-Experience deploying and maintaining Business Objects Audit functionality.
-Good knowledge of application and web servers like Websphere, Apache and Java components.
-Experience in low level BO XI system architecture and service communication, including the ability to architect the system for failover and scalability.
-Ability to troubleshoot problems, performance tuning & analyze performance statistics.
-Good knowledge of AIX Unix and Redhat Linux (Business Objects platform runs on AIX and Linux).

-Good written and spoken English OR Dutch.
-Motivated to work in a challenging dynamic, international and demanding environment.
-Willing to use new tools and methods.
-Pragmatic in the face of problems - capable to work both independently and in a team.
-The capability to provide solution change requests.
-College or Graduate Degree is preferable.

The candidate must be willing to travel to the UK and Germany.

The Offer Business Objects Specialist

As a Business Objects Specialist you can count on a good salary between € 3800, and € 4500, and good benefits.
