Company Profile: Business Analyst IT

Business Analyst IT for a world leading Financial Institution. As a business analyst you perform all analysis required for system development (business cases, projects, system changes). The team consists of 20 people operating across various European locations. The team's brief is to ensure that business and project objectives are understood, and that requirements are clarified and translated into a solution design consistent with the company's architecture.

Job description: Business Analyst IT

As a Business Analyst IT you are responsible for:

1. Business Analysis
-Understand the function and processes of the organisation in order to develop and describe appropriate solutions to business issues.
-Clarify and document business requirements in a structured manner.
-Perform feasibility analysis for business cases, including the underlying business objectives/benefits and ITS implications of the initiative.
-Perform impact analysis and assist in estimating the cost of proposed development work.

2. Information Analysis
-Understand and model information systems or their components, using a variety of modelling techniques, as a basis for designs, build and testing.

3. Solution Specification
-Create and document comprehensive solution specifications, suitable for both business and ITS audiences.
-Ensure that improvements in current business solutions are pro-actively developed, and that systems are consistent with each other and with the company's architecture.

Job Criteria: Business Analyst IT

As a Business Analyst IT you should have the following skills:

-A completed formal education in either business management/organisational consultancy, or in the field of informatics/computing sciences;
-You are familiar with the Oracle platform (database, Forms, Designer) and, ideally, also with XML and Java;
-You have understanding of the principles of systems development, analysis and design;
-You are familiar with analysis techniques and methods (for e.g. requirements capturing, information modelling, process and function modelling);
-You are able to write solution specifications (e.g. screen design, system functions and procedures, data design);
-You posses good oral and written communication skills, including (advanced) English language skills;
-You are able to perform complex analysis tasks and responsibilities independently;
-You are able to guide less experienced team members, and provide examples of appropriate execution of the work (e.g. through use of blueprints/templates, or by applying best practices in a concrete situation);
-You take a leading role in structuring business interaction during analysis work.
